A few years ago I did a show at the Wheaton Arts Museum in New Jersey. My friend, a fellow artist, and I stayed at a beautiful historic Bed and Breakfast in the area. As I was coming down the stairs for breakfast, she was already there. The host just finished setting the table and was checking that all was in place. The scene below made me pause. I wanted to preserve that moment of homelike atmosphere, of informal comfort and care, from a slightly unusual angle I happened to be at as an observer. It's one of my favorite subjects - people at ease in their environment, going about their business.
